WATER WHEELS is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2016 in France by four friends: Astrid, Emma, Agnès and Cécile. Cycling 8,000 km along the Andes, volunteering for six weeks with three local charities and 11,000€ of donations to fund 3 projects with these same charities: this is the challenge that the Water Wheels have set themselves and that they have engaged on in January 2017.
In order to contribute our little droplet of help and to give meaning to this project we wanted to put some of our time and energy at the service of others. We therefore volunteered with three local charities during the trip, to whom we also donated 50% of the funds that we have raised.
Serving others and surpassing ourselves are the two pillars of this project.
Cycling is the only mode of transport that we used to link Ushuaïa to Lima: 8,000 km along the Andes, that's the sporting challenge that we engaged in!
An outstanding challenge: it is through surpassing ourselves that we wanted to bring our little droplet of water to the world.
